Fossils and Flumes

Date:
Saturday, August 1, 2015 - 11:00am to 12:30pm
Venue:
Environmental Education Center, Alviso

Fossils and Flumes help teach children about the South Bay Salt Ponds Restoration Project. Park Ranger Jose Garcia brings fossils from Triassic wetlands he collected in eastern Montana to show the similarities to wetlands today. We'll learn what their function is in nature. Interactive flumes allow for a hands-on experience of how wetlands protect the surrounding area from flooding.
